(Dayton, OH) - The Lake County Captains (19-24) and Dayton Dragons (21-20) were suspended due to rain on Monday night at Fifth Third Field. The rain interrupted the proceedings in the middle of the fifth inning with the game tied at 2-2.
Before the rain, Lake County grabbed an early lead against Dayton starter Packy Naughton. In the top of the first, Tyler Friis led off with a single and Ulysses Cantu walked two batters later. Jonathan Laureano followed with a double down the left field line to plate Friis and give the Captains a 1-0 lead.

Dayton struck back in the bottom of the second. Captains starter Gregori Vasquez walked Montrell Marshall and John Sansone followed with a two-run home run to left field to put the Dragons ahead, 2-1. Dayton nearly added an insurance run when Hendrik Clementina followed Sansone's long ball with a double, but Leandro Santana lined out to centerfield and Todd Isaacs doubled Clementina off at second to end the inning.
Jose Vicente knotted the score in the top of the fourth. Leading off against Naughton, Vicente drove a ball over the right field wall for a solo homer, tying the game at 2-2.
The Captains and Dragons will resume Monday's game on Tuesday night, beginning at 6 p.m. The game will pick up in the bottom of the fifth inning with the Dragons at bat and the score still tied, 2-2. Afterwards, the Captains and Dragons will play a seven-inning game.
