Health and well-being for local communities is the top priority for Storm organization

LAKE ELSINORE, CA - The Lake Elsinore Storm today announced changes to the 2020 baseball calendar after Minor League Baseball (MiLB) released a statement indicating a delay to the start of the upcoming season. Storm team officials are now taking precautions to help protect the community from the spread of the coronavirus.
"Our number one priority right now is ensuring the health and well-being of any guests, employees and local communities," said Storm co-General Manager and CFO Christine Kavic. "The organization will follow orders from the California Governor on limiting or postponing non-essential public gatherings that include over 250 people. We are in daily contact with our ownership on plans for looking out for our fans. We will continue to follow direction from health and government agencies as well as awaiting additional direction from Minor League Baseball."
MiLB issued the following statement earlier today:
"In light of the current coronavirus outbreak, and after consultation with medical professionals and our partners at Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball will delay the start of the 2020 Championship Season. We will continue to monitor the developments and will announce additional information about the 2020 season at a later date. We will work with Major League Baseball and our community partners to resume play as soon as it is safe to do so. The health and safety of Minor League Baseball fans, players and executives is our top priority, and our thoughts are with those around the world who have been affected by this outbreak."
For any individuals, families, and groups who have tickets or vouchers for Opening Day, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 9 at The Diamond, the Storm will honor those tickets and vouchers for any game of the season, excluding July 3rd. The new Opening Day date will be confirmed and announced by MiLB at a later date.
Additionally, the Storm will have a future announcement on a revised promotional calendar for the 2020 season. All box office or ticket purchases can be made by calling 951-245-4487 or online at stormbaseball.com.

Other facets of Storm Baseball that will be impacted include the cancellation of the 14th Annual Sip N' Swing Preseason Party and the postponement of the scheduled Job Fair on March 15.
"Every year, just as local fans and guests look forward to Sip N' Swing festivities, so does our organization," said Kavic. "However, it was of utmost importance to be proactive at this time and show our care for the community. We are thankful for all Storm supporters and will continue to update our platforms as we receive more information."
