Free passes spell end of win streak

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The JetHawks issued a season-high 11 walks, allowed three unearned runs and saw their season-long five-game win streak end in a 9-6 loss to the Inland Empire 66ers on Saturday night at San Manuel Stadium. 
Lancaster starter Logan Longwith matched a club-high with seven walks over 3.2 innings but was able to keep his club in the game. He exited with the bases loaded and two outs in a 2-2 tie. 
Reliever Kenny Oakley (0-3) was able to help Longwith escape the jam in the fourth inning but fell into his own trouble in the fifth when he allowed three runs, two of which scored on a Julian Leon homer. 
Inland Empire (21-22) broke the game open with a four-run sixth inning. Oakley started the inning by walking the first two hitters before he was replaced by reliever Ben Bowden. The left-hander, making his JetHawks debut, struck out the first batter he faced but allowed a single to load the bases before forcing home a run with a walk. Carlos Herrera's errant throw to the plate on the next play allowed two runs to score and led to three unearned runs in the inning. 
The JetHawks (22-21) battled back with four runs in the seventh to get back within three runs. Manny Melendez and Herrera each picked up RBI before Forrest Wall belted a two-run home run, his third of the season. 
Wall finished the game 2-for-4 with a double, homer and a walk to post his 20th multi-hit game of the season in his 40th game played. 
The series finishes up with a rubber game on Sunday afternoon. Brandon Gold (3-2) is scheduled to toe the rubber for the JetHawks opposite right-hander Joe Gatto (4-2). First pitch is 2:05 p.m.
