STOCKTON, Calif. - Ryan Vilade gave the JetHawks the lead with a home run in the fourth inning, but the Stockton Ports allowed only the one run and rallied to win, 5-1, on Wednesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
Vilade's solo home run broke a scoreless tie in a pitchers' duel between Will Gaddis (5-6) and Bryce Conley (2-0).
Conley had retired the first nine batters he faced before giving up a double to Luke Morgan to begin the fourth inning. Morgan was tagged out on the bases trying to stretch the lead-off double into a triple. Vilade followed with the solo homer, his fifth home run of the season, to give the JetHawks (15-12, 49-46) the lead.
Gaddis pitched a scoreless fourth inning but couldn't keep the JetHawks ahead in the fifth. Ryan Gridley led off with a double and scored to tie the game on a Josh Watson base hit.
With two outs and two on later in the fifth, Jeremy Eierman tripled home two runs to put Stockton (14-13, 47-48) ahead, 3-1.
The Ports added two runs against Hayden Roberts in the sixth inning. Roberts, who was reinstated from Injured List a few days ago, was pitching for the first time since late June.
Taylor Snyder went 0-for-2 with a walk to end his hitting streak at nine games. Casey Golden went 0-for-4 to snap a six-game streak.
The series continues on Thursday night at 7:10 p.m. Garrett Schilling starts for Lancaster opposite rehabbing left-hander Sean Manaea.
