CLEARWATER, Fla. - Darick Hall hit a walk-off home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Clearwater Threshers over the Fort Myers Miracle, 3-2, on Tuesday night at Spectrum Field.
Hall's homer came against Ryan Mason (0-1), who had retired the first 10 batters he faced with five strikeouts out of the Miracle bullpen.
The Miracle took the lead two batters into the game. Mark Contreras won an 11-pitch battle with Clearwater starter Connor Seabold and drew a walk. Joe Cronin followed with an RBI double off the center field wall on the next pitch, extending his hitting streak to eight games.
Fort Myers added another run in the second inning on an RBI double by Contreras. Clearwater got on the board in the bottom of the second on a solo home run by Henri Lartigue. They added an unearned run in the fourth to tie the game. It remained 2-2 until the ninth.
Anthony Marzi started for the Miracle and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in five innings. He struck out six.
Aaron Brown (1-0) earned the win in relief for Clearwater. He struck out all three batters he faced in the top of the ninth inning.
The three-game series concludes on Wednesday afternoon at Spectrum Field, as the Miracle look to avoid a sweep. Right-hander Tyler Wells (2-0), the reigning FSL Pitcher of the Week, will start for Fort Myers. First pitch is 12:00 p.m.
