August 31, 2016

San Antonio - On Wednesday afternoon, the Texas League Office announced its 2016 Post-Season All-Star Team.

Representing San Antonio on the Post-Season All-Star squad is former closer Jason Jester. In 34 games for the Missions this season, Jester went 2-1 with a 2.54 ERA and 53 strikeouts against just seven walks over 39 innings. At the time (July 30) of his promotion to Triple-A El Paso, the 25-year-old hurler was leading the Texas League in both saves and games finished (25), while also ranking third in appearances.

After a slow start in the Pacific Coast League, Jester is starting to find his groove with the first-place Chihuahuas. The Hallsville, TX native has allowed just two runs in his last eight appearances (8.1 IP).

San Diego selected Jester in the 23rd round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Texas A&M University. In 104 career games, Jester is 10-6 with a 2.98 ERA and a K/BB of 150:30 over 126.2 innings.

San Antonio (34-30, 56-78) returns to Wolff Stadium Saturday to begin a season-ending, three-game series against first-half champion Corpus Christi (34-30, 81-53).
