San Jose, CA. - A quiet day on the offensive end sent the Modesto Nuts to a 4-0 loss against the San Jose Giants on Friday night at Municipal Stadium.

Stetson Woods (W, 1-0), making his season debut, was perfect for the Giants (30-25) in his first four innings. Nick Zammarelli recorded the first hit and baserunner with a single to start the fifth before Woods retired the next three to end the inning and his evening. Woods worked five innings and struck out two using just 44 pitches.

Orlando Razo (L, 0-1) made his California League debut for the Nuts (23-32). He worked five innings and surrendered three runs. In the second, he allowed a leadoff double to CJ Hinojosa. Razo proceeded to walk the next three batters he faced leading to the first run of the game. Bryce Johnson bounced into a fielder's choice that allowed the second run of the inning to score. In his final frame, a sacrifice fly drove in a leadoff double.

Donnie Walton led the way offensively with two hits in four at-bats including a double in the sixth.
