Visalia, CA. - Eight early runs sent the Modesto Nuts to a 15-3 loss in the rubber game of a three-game series with the Visalia Rawhide on Sunday afternoon at Recreation Park.
The Nuts (19-25) will return home after a 3-3 road trip following two straight losses to the Rawhide (24-20).
Gareth Morgan homered in the sixth inning to get the Nuts on the board. Bryson Brigman recorded a RBI triple. Donnie Walton went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Danny Garcia (L, 0-4) lasted just two innings against the Rawhide offense. He surrendered a two-run single to Dalton Varsho. In the second, with two outs, Ramon Hernandez blasted a grand slam. Drew Ellis followed with a two-out, two-run homer.
Kevin McCanna (W, 2-0) worked seven innings for the Rawhide and allowed just the long ball to Morgan. The righty struck out seven and walked just one.
