Nine Unanswered Runs Send Nuts to 10-5 Defeat

Modesto, CA. - Eguy Rosario went deep twice to lead the Lake Elsinore Storm's 10-5 defeat of the Modesto Nuts on Monday night at John Thurman Field.
After Kevin Santa drove in a second-inning run with a RBI groundout, the Storm (38-44; 4-8) scored nine unanswered runs to set up a rubber game in the five-game series finale on Tuesday.
Colin Rodgers (L, 3-4) got off to a great start in his start for the Nuts (33-49; 3-9). He retired all nine he faced in the first three innings. In the fourth, the Storm tied the game. Edward Olivares whacked the first of his two triples and scored on a RBI fielder's choice.
The Storm opened the game up in the fifth inning with five runs. Luis Torrens started the frame with a double before two quick outs recorded by Rodgers. Nate Easley bounced a RBI single into center before Olivares tripled home two runs. Rosario brought home Olivares with his first home run of the day.
Rosario smashed a two-run homer in the seventh as well. Rosario drove in five runs for the Storm.
Rodgers was done after five allowing six runs on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
Ramirez did not allow another run after the second-inning RBI by Santa. Ramirez worked five innings and surrendered just four hits.
Kyle Lewis recorded two hits, two RBI, walked and scored a run. Bryson Brigman went 2-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored.
