Nuts Pour on 17 Hits in an 8-3 Win

Visalia, CA. - A season-high 17 hits by the Modesto Nuts led them to an 8-6 victory over the Visalia Rawhide on Wednesday night at Recreation Park. Both Bryson Brigman and Kevin Santa recorded four hits. Each of the Nuts' (29-37) 17 hits were singles. Rawhide (34-31) starter Conner Grey

Visalia, CA. - A season-high 17 hits by the Modesto Nuts led them to an 8-6 victory over the Visalia Rawhide on Wednesday night at Recreation Park.
Both Bryson Brigman and Kevin Santa recorded four hits. Each of the Nuts' (29-37) 17 hits were singles.
Rawhide (34-31) starter Conner Grey (L, 5-4) surrendered eleven of the hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. Brigman recorded a RBI single in the second inning. Santa whacked a RBI single in the third after three-straight one-out hits. Aaron Stroosma knocked Grey out of the game after four runs with a RBI single in the fifth.
The Nuts offense opened it up in the seventh with four runs. Brigman drove in two with a two-run single. Liberato, who had two hits, smacked a ball off the glove of the first baseman Ramon Hernandez to drive in another run. Stroosma's third RBI came in that inning with a bases-loaded walk.
Randy Bell (W, 3-4) threw well for the Nuts. He allowed solo home runs in the third and fourth innings. An unearned run crossed the plate after a doubleplay. He worked six frames and allowed just two earned runs with five strikeouts.
The win gives the Nuts a chance at the series victory on Thursday.
