Nuts Wipe Out Five-Run Deficit in 8-7 Win

Lancaster, CA. -  A pair of sixth-inning home runs lead the Modesto Nuts to their largest come-from-behind victory of the year. The 8-7 win over the Lancaster JetHawks at The Hangar snapped a four-game skid.
After falling behind by five runs with the help of four errors, the Nuts (35-53; 5-13) burst for seven runs in the sixth inning. Bryson Brigman singled to start the frame before Luis Liberato launched a two-run homer. Evan White followed with a triple and scored on the Kyle Lewis RBI single. Anthony Jimenez singled, the Nuts' fifth straight hit in the inning, to knock the JetHawks' (44-44; 11-7) starter Antoni Santos out of the game.
Santos finished after five-plus innings ultimately allowing five runs on seven hits.
Kevin Santa greeted Ben Bowden (L, 1-2) to the game with a RBI double. Nick Thurman capped the frame with the go-ahead three-run blast.
Manuel Pazos added a run in the eighth with a RBI double. That turned out to be the deciding run. In the bottom of the eighth, Jacob Bosiokovic smashed a two-run homer to bring the JetHawks to within one.
Wyatt Mills (S, 7/10) worked a perfect ninth inning for the Nuts. Jack Anderson tossed two perfect innings out of the Nuts' bullpen with four strikeouts. McClain ended up working five innings allowing five runs, three earned on eight hits.
