Lancaster, CA. - It was the second inning when the Lancaster JetHawks set off the bulk of their fireworks as they defeated the Modesto Nuts 9-3 on Wednesday night at The Hangar.
Nick Wells (L, 1-2) surrendered nine hits leading to six runs in the second inning. He gave up seven straight knocks to start the frame which plated five runs. Five consecutive hits drove in a single run before a fielder's choice scored the final tally.
Wells allowed one more run in the fourth in his start for the Nuts (34-50; 4-10). He worked 3 1/3 innings allowing eight runs on eleven hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
