Biscuits Power Past Rocket City, 12-7

MADISON, AL (September 4, 2026) – The Montgomery Biscuits mashed their way past the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 12-7, on Friday night at Toyota Field.

Montgomery jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning when Will Simpson doubled home Mac Horvath to open the scoring before Justyn-Henry Malloy launched a three-run homer to right-center, scoring Simpson and Theo Gillen.

Malloy added to the lead in the third, launching his second home run of the night, his third of the season, to center field to make it 5-0.

The Biscuits added three more runs in the fourth. Connor Hujsak singled home Gillen and Malloy to extend the lead to 7-0.

Rocket City answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Jake Munroe doubled home Anthony Scull, Eddie Micheletti Jr. followed with a two-run homer, and Mac McCroskey singled home Juan Flores to cut the Biscuits' lead to 8-4.

The Trash Pandas added another run in the fifth when Caleb Bartolero singled home Munroe, making it an 8-5 game.

Montgomery responded with two runs in the sixth. Simpson hit his 26th home run of the season to push the lead back to 9-5, and Hujsak later singled home Arruda to make it 10-5.

The Biscuits added two more runs in the seventh. Gillen tripled to center, scoring Horvath and Simpson to extend the lead to 12-5...Gillen's triple was his fourth of the season.

Rocket City scored once in the eighth on a Jake Thompson RBI single before adding another run in the ninth on a bases-loaded walk to Bartolero, but Montgomery held on for the 12-7 victory.

Malloy finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two home runs and four RBI, recording nine total bases. Simpson went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a double, a home run and two RBI, raising his season RBI total to a career-best 91. Gillen finished 3-for-6 with two runs scored, a double, triple and two RBI, collecting six total bases. Hujsak went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base, matching a career high with four hits. Horvath added two hits, two runs scored and stole his 49th base of the season.

Chris Clark earned the win, improving to 4-2 after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out six. T.J. Nichols allowed four runs over 3.2 innings. Justin Yeager worked 2.0 innings, allowing one run while striking out three.
