MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A regular season-ending doubleheader between the Biscuits (62-55) and the Birmingham Barons (62-56) was canceled due to rain on Sunday night at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits, who were a half-game ahead of the Barons for the final playoff spot in the Double-A South at the time of the cancellation, are headed back to the postseason for a team-record sixth-consecutive season after winning the only four games of the series.
The Biscuits will play the Mississippi Braves in a best-of-five series for the Double-A South Championship next week, with Game One beginning at 6:35 PM CT on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
Game Two will be Wednesday at 6:35 PM CT, also at Riverwalk Stadium, and Game 3 will be on Friday at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. Games 4 and 5 will also be at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS if necessary.
