Game Summary: Ryan Noda hit two home runs and a triple, racking up a career-high seven RBI in the Oklahoma City Dodgers’ 10-7 win against the Las Vegas Aviators Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. His two-run triple in the first inning gave the Dodgers their first lead of the night. His two-run homer in the fifth inning tied the game, 6-6, and his three-run homer in the seventh inning gave the Dodgers a 9-7 lead. Meanwhile, the Dodgers bullpen held Las Vegas to one run over the final 6.1 innings of the back-and-forth game. The Aviators (45-35) took the first lead of the night with a two-run double by Austin Allen. OKC (48-33) responded with four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the lead. The Aviators regained the lead in the third inning, scoring four runs. Noda’s two-run homer out to right field in the fifth inning knotted the score at 6-6. Las Vegas took the lead again in the seventh inning before Noda’s three-run homer to left-center field in the bottom of the seventh inning put OKC in front, 9-7. The Dodgers reached the 10-run mark when Drew Avans scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning.
Of Note:
-The Dodgers snapped a season-high five-game losing skid with Wednesday night’s win and trimmed Las Vegas’ lead in the six-game series to 2-1. It was OKC’s first win of July and first since June 30 in El Paso.
-Ryan Noda went 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs, three runs scored, a walk and a career-high seven RBI as he reached base four times. His seven RBI are the most by an OKC player this season and the most by an OKC player in a single game since Steven Souza Jr. (7 RBI) and Luke Raley (9 RBI) combined for 16 RBI in OKC’s 20-9 win May 30, 2021 in El Paso…Noda recorded his team-leading third multi-homer game of the season as he boosted his season total to 12 home runs.
-Ryan Noda’s triple in the first inning was his first of the season and Oklahoma City’s Triple-A-leading 29th triple of the season.
-The Dodgers’ offense scored 10 runs for the team’s highest run total since a 12-7 win in Reno June 17 — a stretch of 18 games. Prior to Wednesday, the Dodgers had been held to five runs or less in five straight games and to four runs or less in three consecutive games…The Dodgers scored four runs in the first inning Wednesday for their highest scoring inning since June 19 in Reno when they scored five runs in the first inning.
-The Dodgers bullpen allowed just one run over the game’s final 6.1 innings as four OKC relievers combined to allow three hits and four walks with 12 strikeouts…The Dodgers pitching staff recorded a season-high 16 strikeouts overall as they tallied 14 or more strikeouts for a third straight game.
-Tomás Telis went 3-for-5 with a RBI, tying his season-high mark for hits and reaching three hits for the fourth time this season…Stefen Romero reached base four times as he also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a RBI, two walks and tying Ryan Noda for a game-high three runs scored.
-Drew Avans picked up a hit and RBI as he extended his season-best on-base streak to 21 games. The on-base streak is the longest by an OKC player this season. He has also hit safely in 17 of his last 21 games, batting .300 (24x80).
-Las Vegas tallied six doubles Wednesday over the game’s first four innings, falling one shy of the season-high mark for doubles in a game by a Dodgers opponent (7 @ELP June 29).
What’s Next: The series between the Dodgers and Aviators continues at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Live radio coverage of each OKC Dodgers game begins 15 minutes before first pitch on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com and through the free iHeartRadio or MiLB First Pitch apps.
