Game Summary: The Las Vegas Aviators scored eight runs over a three-inning span early in Friday night’s game as they sent the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 10-3 loss at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Aviators (46-36) quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead with a two-run home run by Billy McKinney in the second inning and a two-run home run by Vince Fernandez in the third inning. The Dodgers (49-34) got on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly by Miguel Vargas in the third inning. Las Vegas added four more runs in the fourth inning, including a three-run double by Cristian Pache and RBI single by Shea Langeliers to take an 8-1 lead. The Dodgers offense added two runs in the eighth inning with a RBI single by Ryan Noda and sacrifice fly by James Outman, but Las Vegas answered with two runs in the top of the ninth inning on a single by McKinney to extend back to a seven-run lead. Friday night’s game had a 57-minute delayed start due to rain.

Of Note:

-The Dodgers allowed seven or more runs for the seventh time in the last eight games and eighth time in the last 10 games. It was the sixth time during the 10-game span that the Dodgers allowed double-digit runs…On the other hand, the Dodgers’ offense tallied three runs and was held to four or fewer runs for the fourth time in the last six games after scoring double-digit runs in back-to-back games Wednesday and Thursday.

-With their win Friday, the Aviators took a 3-2 lead in the series between the teams after the Dodgers had won back-to-back games to even the series. Oklahoma City has now lost six of the last eight games to open the month of July.

-Miguel Vargas finished with his team-leading 30th multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Vargas has now hit safely in four straight games, going 6-for-18. He leads the PCL with 95 total hits and 68 total runs scored this season. His 161 total bases are second-most in the league.

-Ryan Noda went 2-for-5 with a RBI and has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 9-for-25 with a double, triple, two homers, eight RBI, five runs scored and four walks.

-The Dodgers allowed two home runs, snapping a stretch of three straight games without allowing a home run to tie their season-long streak…On the other hand, the Dodgers were held without a home run after homering in seven straight games.

-Tomás Telis reached base safely twice with two walks and has now reached base eight times over the last three games…Michael Busch doubled and now has nine hits through his first eight games of July.

-The Dodgers pitching staff recorded 12 strikeouts as they have now racked up 12 or more strikeouts in five straight games (70 total K’s).

-Friday was an 89ers Night, as OKC wore throwback jerseys and hats to pay homage to the team’s identity from 1962-97.
