Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 – Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark – Oklahoma City, Okla.

Game Summary: The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored nine runs over two innings, including four homers, on the way to a 12-5 win against the Albuquerque Isotopes Monday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Isotopes (46-60) scored runs in three of the first four innings, including back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning to take an early 4-0 lead. The Dodgers (53-53) answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game. Omar Estévez belted a two-run homer onto the Budweiser Deck in left field before Gavin Lux hit a RBI double and Matt Beaty followed with a RBI single. The Dodgers then took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring five runs. Zach Reks and Cristian Santana hit back-to-back homers to lead off the inning. Anthony Bemboom added a RBI groundout before Gavin Lux connected on a two-run homer out to center field for a 9-4 lead. OKC added a RBI single in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth inning to extend to a 12-4 advantage. A solo homer in the ninth inning by the Isotopes cut the Dodgers’ lead to 12-5, as OKC went on to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Of Note:

-The Dodgers hit four homers over two innings Monday afternoon, including back-to-back homers to lead off the fifth inning by Zach Reks and Cristian Santana. The back-to-back homers were the ninth hit by the Dodgers this season and first back-to-back homers hit by the team since July 23 against Sugar Land in OKC…The four home runs hit by the Dodgers Monday were the most in a game by the team since OKC hit four homers Aug. 10 in Albuquerque.

-Gavin Lux reached base five times, going 3-for-4 with a double, homer, two walks, three RBI and two runs scored. His homer in the fifth inning was his first since June 11 with the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Texas Rangers. Through 15 games with OKC this season, Lux is batting .276 (16-for-58) with three doubles, a homer, five walks, eight RBI and 15 runs scored.

-Five Dodgers players finished with multi-hit games Monday as OKC racked up 16 hits for the team’s highest single-game total since also recording 16 hits Aug. 8 in Albuquerque. Gavin Lux (3-for-4), Cristian Santana (3-for-5) and Drew Avans (3-for-5) all finished with a game-high three hits. Omar Estévez and Lux each finished with a game-high three RBI.

-The 12 runs scored by the Dodgers Monday were the most by the team since a 15-10 win in Albuquerque Aug. 8. Monday marked the eighth time this season the Dodgers scored 12 or more runs in a game.

-OKC recorded seven extra-base hits in the game and through the first five games of the current series has a combined 24 extra-base hits. Going back to their previous series against the Isotopes, the Dodgers have 57 extra-base hits in their last 11 games against Albuquerque

-With Monday’s win, the Dodgers took a 3-2 lead in their series against the Isotopes and also moved back to .500 overall this season at 53-53.

-The Dodgers have now played back-to-back day games after playing just five day games through their first 104 games of the season. The Dodgers improved to 3-4, including 2-2 against the Isotopes.

What’s Next: The OKC Dodgers wrap up their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to start for Oklahoma City as part of a Major League Rehab Assignment.
