Drive Quartet Headed to Arizona Fall League

The 2026 Greenville Drive season may be complete, but baseball will continue this fall for four players who called Fluor Field home this year.

Mason White, Antonio Anderson, Trennor O’Donnell and Nazzan Zanetello have been selected by the Boston Red Sox to participate in the prestigious Arizona Fall League, where they will join some of the top prospects from across Minor League Baseball as members of the Mesa Solar Sox.

The Arizona Fall League opens October 3 and brings together prospects from all 30 Major League organizations for six weeks of competition in the Phoenix area. The Solar Sox roster is composed of prospects from the Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels, Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs.

For the Drive quartet, the assignment provides another opportunity to build on their development after each made an impact in Greenville during the 2026 season.

Mason White

White was one of Greenville's most productive hitters during the first half of the season and used that success to earn a promotion to Double-A Portland on July 18. In 68 games with the Drive, the infielder hit .270 with 14 home runs, 14 doubles, three triples and 42 RBI, while producing a .362 on-base percentage and .525 slugging percentage for an impressive .887 OPS.

White's combination of power and on-base ability helped anchor the Greenville lineup before his promotion. He finished the full Minor League season with 18 home runs between Greenville and Portland and will now return to Arizona — where he played collegiately at the University of Arizona — for another significant step in his professional development.

Antonio Anderson

Few Drive players enjoyed a bigger breakthrough in 2026 than Anderson.

The 21-year-old switch-hitter batted .273 with nine home runs, 17 doubles, four triples, 46 RBI and 53 runs scored, while reaching base at a .373 clip and finishing with an .826 OPS.

Anderson was also one of the South Atlantic League's most decorated players during the summer. He earned SAL Player of the Week honors twice, for the weeks ending June 28 and August 9, becoming the first South Atlantic League player in 2026 to win the award multiple times.

His season demonstrated significant offensive growth while he continued to gain experience around the infield. The AFL will give Anderson an opportunity to carry that momentum into additional high-level at-bats against many of baseball's most highly regarded young pitchers.

Trennor O'Donnell

For O'Donnell, the Arizona Fall League represents an especially valuable opportunity to add innings after an abbreviated regular season.

The 6-foot-7 right-hander began the year working his way back from injury before joining Greenville in late July. O'Donnell ultimately made 14 appearances for the Drive, throwing 34⅓ innings and recording 33 strikeouts.

Originally selected by Boston in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Ball State, O'Donnell has struck out 128 batters across 120⅓ innings during his Minor League career. His assignment to Mesa gives him the chance to continue building workload and development against an advanced collection of hitters before the offseason begins.

Nazzan Zanetello

Zanetello's 2026 season became a story of perseverance and a strong finish.

After beginning the year with Greenville, the former second-round pick returned to action during the summer and rejoined the Drive in late July. He played 31 games for Greenville, batting .234 with six home runs, six doubles, 15 RBI and seven stolen bases, good for a .799 OPS.

His production surged down the stretch. In September, Zanetello hit .286 with two home runs and an .889 OPS, helping Greenville remain in the South Atlantic League playoff race into the season's final weekend. Among his late-season highlights was a solo homer in Greenville's dramatic 13-11 comeback victory at Bowling Green on September 1.

The Fall League will provide Zanetello with additional game action following a regular season in which he was limited to 36 total games across Greenville and the Florida Complex League.

Being chosen for the Arizona Fall League carries significance within player development.

Operated by Major League Baseball, the AFL has long been viewed as a "finishing school" for top Minor League prospects, allowing organizations to give selected players additional at-bats or innings, accelerate development and provide exposure against advanced competition. Each MLB organization supplies prospects to one of six teams playing primarily at Spring Training facilities throughout Arizona.

The level of talent is substantial. MLB announced that the 2026 AFL rosters include 12 MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects and 75 organizational Top 30 prospects. Anderson and Zanetello are also among the 2026 participants who previously took part in MLB youth development programs.

The league has become a proven stop on the road to the Major Leagues. According to MLB, 27 of the 77 players selected for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game were former Arizona Fall League participants.

For White, Anderson, O'Donnell and Zanetello, it represents both recognition of their potential and another opportunity to take the next step toward Boston.

The 2026 Arizona Fall League season begins Saturday, October 3, with the Fall Stars Game scheduled for November 8 and the AFL Championship set for November 14.
