OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Comets manager Scott Hennessey has been named the 2026 Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year, as announced by Major League Baseball. Additionally, outfielder James Tibbs III, starting pitcher Christian Romero and relief pitcher Seth Halvorsen were named 2026 Pacific Coast League All-Stars.

Voting for league postseason awards was conducted among league field managers during the final week of the 2026 regular season.

Hennessey becomes the third Oklahoma City manager in the Bricktown era (since 1998) to win PCL Manager of the Year, joining Damon Berryhill (2015) and Greg Biagini (1999). This is his first career Manager of the Year award since being named a full-time manager in the Dodgers organization in 2018.

During the regular season, Hennessey led the Comets to a PCL-leading 89-60 record, including a league-best 48-27 record during the second half. The 89 wins are the second-most in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown era and third-most in franchise history.

In the postseason, the Comets won OKC’s sixth-ever Triple-A league title and then went to on to claim the franchise’s first-ever Triple-A National Championship. It marked Hennessey’s second league title as a manger, also winning the Texas League with Double-A Tulsa in 2018.

Hennessey has been with the Dodgers organization since 2007, first as an amateur scout in Florida. He then transitioned to coaching in player development beginning in 2017 with Double-A Tulsa. He was named interim manager for Tulsa in the middle of the 2017 season and then managed the Drillers for six seasons between 2018-24. He was named Oklahoma City’s manager in 2025, and his career managerial record now stands at 612-536.

For the first time since 1999, three OKC players made the league’s year-end All-Star Team. Tibbs finished the regular season first in the PCL in total bases (278), first in walks (108), second in runs (109), second in homers (30), second in RBI (107), second in SLG (.532), third in hits (150), fourth in OBP (.409), fourth in OPS (.941) and tied for fourth in doubles (32).

Tibbs became one of two players in the Minors since 2000 to record at least 100 RBI, 100 runs and 100 walks in one season and the first to reach each of those thresholds in the PCL since 1982.

Within Oklahoma City’s Bricktown era, Tibbs tied for the second-most RBI in a single season and recorded one of seven 30-plus home run campaigns. He also set a new single-season record for walks.

Last week, Tibbs was named to the Baseball America Triple-A All-Star team, encompassing the entire level.

Romero made 30 appearances, including 22 starts, for the Comets this season. He went 11-5 with one save, and along with Cole Irvin, became the first OKC pitching duo with at least 10 wins in one season since 2017.

Romero finished the regular season ranked second among qualified PCL pitchers in ERA (4.06), second in BAA (.267) and third in WHIP (1.41). He was also second in strikeouts (115), second in wins, and fourth in innings (135.1 IP). Romero set career highs in starts, innings, strikeouts and wins.

Halvorsen split his time in the PCL this season between Albuquerque and OKC after he was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers in a trade with the Colorado Rockies July 20. Between the two teams, Halvorsen made 26 appearances, posting a 1.32 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 27.1 innings. In his time with the Comets during the regular season, Halvorsen did not allow an earned run in 9.2 innings. He recorded the final five outs in Saturday’s win over Rochester for the Triple-A National Championship, ending the game with a strikeout.

Halvorsen has also made 32 appearances in the Majors this season between the Dodgers and the Rockies.

In addition to the three regular season All-Stars, outfielder Alek Thomas was named MVP of the Triple-A National Championship Game. Thomas went 2-for-3 and delivered a go-ahead, three-run double in the top of the 10th inning to lead OKC to a 5-3 victory over Rochester.
