Hickory, NC- The Texas Rangers announced today the promotion of three Crawdads, with INF Ti'Quan Forbes, INF Yeyson Yrizarri and C/1B Carlos Garay all joining the Down East Wood Ducks (Class A Advanced). Forbes and Yrizarri both began their stint with the Crawdads at the beginning of the 2016 season while Garay joined the 'Dads earlier this year.

Forbes, 20, departs Hickory as the league leader in games played (80) and third in at-bats (305). The Columbia, MS native started off the season by homering in the first 3 games and continued to hit over .300 the entire month of April. He leaves the team leading all active 'Dads batters in home runs (8) and second in hits (73), RBI (34), runs (36), and total bases (111). Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2014 draft, Forbes recorded a consecutive on-base streak of 19 games as well as separate 7 and 6-game hitting streaks. Forbes also made a handful of highlight reel-worthy defensive plays at both third and first base with a .957 fielding percentage.
Yrizarri, 20, concludes his career in Hickory after batting .264 with 5 home runs, 30 RBI, and a team-leading 17 doubles this season. The Rangers number 17 prospect (MLB.com) was riding a 7-game hit streak that included 2 home runs and 9 RBI. Yrizarri frequently flashed the leather at both shortstop and second base with a .976 fielding percentage.
Garay, 22, has been one of the most consistent 'Dads hitters since he first joined the team on May 20th. His .362 batting average leads the team and would have ranked second in the league if he had enough plate appearances to qualify. Over his last 10 games, the Venezuela native was batting .409 with 18 hits, a home run, and 11 RBI. He recorded a hit in 33 of 41 games played with 17 of them multi-hit games.
Joining the 'Dads roster will be INF Charles LeBlanc and C Yohel Pozo from Spokane, and INF Brallan Perez who rejoins the Crawdads from Down East after playing in 8 games with the 'Dads earlier this season.
