Strong Harmon Start, Clutch Offense Propels FredNats to 7-3 Win Over Warbirds

Wilson, NC - The Fredericksburg Nationals scored four runs in the top of the 10th to grab their first win of the series, 7-3 over the Wilson Warbirds.
2025 3rd round pick Landon Harmon made his second start back from the injured list. He continued to shine, throwing 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, striking out three. Harmon was perfect through his first 2.2 innings before an error ended the perfect game. Harmon has now gone his first 5.1 innings without allowing a run in his return from injury.
The Nationals offense, which scored just one run in each of their last three games, was scoreless with just one hit through the first five innings. In the top of the 6th, down 1-0, the FredNats finally broke through. Luke Dickerson walked to lead off the inning and stole second. Coy James and Hunter Hines then hit back to back RBI singles to put Fredericksburg in front 2-1.
The Warbirds got a leadoff triple from Brady Ebel to start the bottom of the 6th. He then scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game up at 2-2. In the top of the 7th, with 9-1-2 in the order up, it was the top of the order that again came through. Luke Dickerson and Cristhian Vaquero got on 2nd and 3rd with one out for Coy James who hit a sacrifice fly for his second RBI of the game to put the FredNats back up 3-2. Wilson scored a run in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extras.
In the top of the 10th, the FredNats finally had the big inning they’ve been waiting for. The automatic runner Jordan Williams scored on a Manny Cabrera RBI double to give Fredericksburg the lead. Dickerson then singled to put two runners on for Vaquero who hit his second double of the night, bringing both runners across to make it 6-3. Hines then picked up his third hit of the night, plating Vaquero to make it 7-3. The Warbirds loaded the bases, but couldn’t score in the bottom of the 10th.
With the win, the FredNats break through the three game losing streak. They’ll look to make it back to back wins to even the series tomorrow. RHP Marlon De La Cruz is set to start against HP Jarrette Bonet. First pitch from Virgina Credit Union Stadium is set for 7:05 PM.
