Salisbury, M.D. - The Fredericksburg Nationals took down the Delmarva Shorebirds 5-4 in extra innings, as pinch hitter Manny Cabrera put the Nats in front in the 10th. The Fredericksburg bullpen shutdown the Shorebirds, now allowing any runs after the 4th inning.

It was a slow start to the series, as after going down 1-2-3 in the top of the 1st, Leodarlyn Colon gave up a leadoff triple to Ty Head to start the bottom of the 1st. Orioles 1st round pick Eric Booth Jr. hit a sacrifice fly to bring Head across and give the Shorebirds an early lead. A couple of innings later, with Alexander Meckley now on the mound after two innings of opening work for Leodarlyn Colon, he walked the leadoff man, then allowed a single to put runners on the corners. Booth got his 2nd RBI of the night on a groundout, then a two run homerun from Stiven Martinez made it 4-0.

The FredNats finally responded offensively in the top of the 4th. After Hines and Ramirez walked to start the inning, Kevin Made hit a two RBI double, his first RBIs of the current rehab stint. A couple of batters later, Avery Ortiz had an RBI double of his own to make it 4-3.

A pair of 2026 draft picks, Cody Howard and Zach Konstantinovsky shutdown the Shorebirds in the final four innings of regulation, allowing just one hit from the 6th inning on.

The Fredericksburg offense continued to threaten, putting runners in scoring position in the 5th, 6th, and 7th, but stranded runners in each inning, unable to bring across the equalizer. In the top of the 9th, Dashyll Tejeda hit a missile over the wall in left center to tie the game 4-4.

In extra innings, Manny Cabrera entered as a pinch hitter and brought across the automatic runner Hunter Hines with an RBI single to put the FredNats up 5-4. In the bottom of the 10th, Adam Boucher allowed the bases loaded to start the inning, then struckout Booth and Martinez, before forcing a flyout against Jimmy Anderson to give the FredNats the victory.

With the win, the Nationals are now 16-3 against the Shorebirds this season. The FredNats hope to start the series with back to back wins. Tomorrow, LHP Juan Reyes will face off against RHP Harrison Kreiling. First pitch from Virginia Credit Union Stadium is set for 7:05 PM.
