Salisbury, M.D. - The Fredericksburg Nationals beat the Delmarva Shorebirds 11-0 in the series finale. Its the Nationals 19th win this season against the Shorebirds which sets a new record for the most wins against a single opponent in FredNats history.

The FredNats got on the board right as the game got underway. Coy James lead off the game with a single, got to second on an error, stole third, then scored on a Jordan Williams sacrifice fly. Juan Cruz, the next batter walked, and Hunter Hines crushed a ball into straightaway centerfield to make it 3-0.

In the 5th, the Nationals added on to the lead. Williams hit a leadoff triple, then scored on a Cruz sacrifice fly. Fredericksburg had hits biggest offensive inning of the day in the 7th, as after a leadoff strikeout, five reached in a row and five runs scored. Cruz hit an RBI double and Dashyll Tejeda hit a two RBI single to highlight the five-spot. The Nats added on another run after a James leadoff triple in the 8th to go up 10-0.

The pitchers dominated again for Fredericksburg, pitching the third shutout of the series and the 12th shutout of the season. Leodarlyn Colon was the opener, throwing two perfect innings. Alexander Meckley then came in as a bulk reliever and threw 3.2 innings, working around four hits and four walks, not allowing a run with four strikeouts. Cooper Carlgren then entered for his professional debut, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings. Tyler Papenbrock threw a scoreless 8th. Kaleb Kantola put a bow on the game pitching the 9th.

With the win, the FredNats win the series. It’s the 12th series win of the season, moving Fredericksburg to 12-5-5 in series’s this season. They’ll get the final one of the year underway on Tuesday. First pitch against the Wilson Warbirds in the series opener is set for 6:05 PM. Pitching matchups are still TBD.
