Fredericksburg, V.A. - The Fredericksburg Nationals rallied in the bottom of the 7th to take a 7-3 win to secure at least a split in the final series of the season against the Wilson Warbirds.

It was a slow start for the Nationals, as in the top of the 1st, Landon Harmon allowed a two-run home run to Rylan Mills, his third homer of the series, to put the Warbirds in front early. It’s the second game in a row that Wilson has taken a 2-0 lead early.

It didn’t take too long for the Fredericksburg offense to respond. In the bottom of the 2nd, Cashel Dugger hit an RBI double to make it a one-run game. A couple innings later in the 4th, Cristhian Vaquero tied the game with an RBI triple down the right field line. Vaquero was aggressive at third and scored on a wild pitch that never even left the home plate circle to make it a 3-2 game. The Warbirds tied the game in the 6th on an RBI single from Moises Polanco.

In the bottom of the 7th, the FredNats bottom of the order sparked a rally as Manny Cabrera and Vaquero both singled. The bases were loaded for Elian Soto who worked a long at bat and walked to give his team the lead. Avery Oritz then walked to make it 5-3. Dashyll Tejeda then came through with a two RBI single up the middle for more insurance to make it 7-3.

With the win, the Nationals take their fourth game in a row. The victory is the 41st at Virginia Credit Union Stadium this season which ties the FredNats record for most home wins in a single season. Fredericksburg look sto take the series tomorrow as Marlon De La Cruz is set to face off against Jamiel Jaquez. First pitch from Virginia Credit Union Stadium is set for 6:35 PM.
