Fredericksburg, V.A. - The Fredericksburg Nationals set a new record for most runs scored since the franchise moved to the FXBG, taking down the Wilson Warbirds 24-2 to take the series win. Its the 5th win in a row for the Nationals.

This game was over from the start. After a quick top of the 1st, the FredNats put together one of the best offensive innings of the season in the bottom of the 1st, scoring eight runs. The FredNats did it on just four hits, with four errors committed by the Warbirds. There wasn’t a single multi-RBI hit in the inning that brought eight runs across. There were three walks, a drop third strike, and an error in the inning,

The Nationals added on two more runs in the 2nd, four in the 3rd, three in the 4th, and seven in the 8th to set a new season-high and break the FredNats record for runs in a game with 24.

Hunter Hines hit the lone home run of the game, smacking a three run shot out of the park in right for his 15th Single-A home run of the season and 19th overall. Hines finished the game with four RBI. Jordan Williams had four hits, becoming the second National this week to have a four hit game after Avery Ortiz did it in the series opener. Dashyll Tejeda and Juan Cruz bouth had three hits in the game.

Jacob Weaver was excellent out of the bullpen for Fredericksburg, throwing 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits, walking one, with six strikeouts. The bullpen entered in the 2nd, and didn’t allow any runs.

With the win, the FredNats get back over .500 in the second half and move 20 games over .500 at home this season. They’ll look to keep the hot streak going tomorrow. RHP Zach Konstantinovsky is set to start against LHP Frank Cairone. First pitch is set for 6:35 PM at Virginia Credit Union Stadium.
