Fredericksburg, V.A. - The Fredericksburg Nationals won their 6th game in a row, and 5th against the Wilson Warbirds 6-3.
It was a strong start for the FredNats. RHP Zack Konstantinovsky, the Nationals 14th round pick this year, made the first start of his professional career and dominated. The Rutgers product recorded all six of his outs by way of the strikeout, allowing just one base runner, a softly hit single.
Right as Konstantinovsky’s work ended, the FredNats got on the board. Coy James came up to the plate with the bases loaded, and worked a walk bringing home the games first run. Avery Ortiz then scored on a balk to make it 2-0. An inning later, the Nationals added on two more on an Elian Soto two RBI single that make it 4-0.
In the 7th, the Nationals added on two more runs, as Rafael Ramirez hit an RBI single, then was brought home on a sacrifice fly by Cashel Dugger. That made it 6-1.
With the win, the FredNats secure a winning record in the 2nd half and are now just one win away from 80 on the season. The Nationals look for the sweep tomorrow as RHP Juan Reyes is set to start against RHP Hayden Robinson. First pitch from Virginia Credit Union Stadium is set for 6:35 PM.
