Aaron Nola Scheduled to Make Rehab Start
Phillies RHP Aaron Nola - sidelined since April 24 with a lower back strain -- is scheduled to make a rehab start for the IronPigs as they conclude their series with the Rochester Red Wings on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.

Nola, 23, was 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA in three starts prior to landing on the disabled list last month. Originally selected by the Phillies in the first round (7th overall) of the 2014 draft, Nola made six appearances for the IronPigs in 2015 before making his Major League debut later that season. With the Pigs, he logged a 3-1 mark with a 3.56 ERA in six starts.
During his rookie 2015 campaign, Nola posted an impressive 6-2 mark with a 3.59 ERA in 13 starts and in the process became the first player drafted by the Phillies to make his Major League debut the very next season since Pat Combs in 1989. Nola made his first career Opening Day roster last season and posted a 2.65 ERA over his first 12 starts. Overall, he went 6-9 with a 4.78 ERA in 20 games before missing the final two months of the 2016 season with a right elbow strain.
The Baton Rouge, La., native played collegiately at LSU and was honored as the 2014 National Pitcher of the Year by the College Baseball Foundation and was also a Golden Spikes Award Finalist that same season.
