Papillion, NE. - After blowing out the Storm Chasers in game one, the Reno Aces fell to Omaha by a score of 6-0 in game two of the doubleheader. Right-hander Keyvius Sampson (3-3) took the loss, allowing six runs on 10 hits while striking out six. Offensively, the Aces were led by Ketel Marte who finished the afternoon 2-for-3. Marte's two hits this afternoon extended his hitting streak to a remarkable 22 games.
Frank Schwindel got the Storm Chasers into the scoring column in the bottom of the first inning - hitting a ball to the right side of the infield with Ramón Torres on third base to give Omaha a 1-0 lead. Three hits and a walk would give Omaha four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning making it a 5-0 lead for the home team.

Omaha would tack on one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning of Reno starter Keyvius Sampson. Drew Muren replaced Sampson, making his 2017 Aces debut. Muren, a former position player turned pitcher, tossed a perfect sixth inning to give Reno a chance for a comeback in the top of the seventh. Muren made two appearances with Reno last year. The righty appeared in two games, tossing two innings, allowing two hits and one earned run.
The loss puts Reno at a record of 27-17. The doubleheader split is the 12th in franchise history. A victory tomorrow would give the Aces their sixth series win of the season. Lefty Aaron Laffey (1-0, 2.57) will get the start with the first pitch scheduled for 4:35 PM. Ticket packages are on-sale now at www.renoaces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700.
