Fresno, California (Sunday, July 28) - The Fresno Grizzlies (53-54) transformed into "Lowriders de Fresno" for the fourth and final time this season on Sunday, falling 10-6 to the Reno Aces (48-59) from Chukchansi Park. The Lowriders finished 1-3 in their two weekends after splitting with Omaha on June 15 and 16. Fresno also succumbed to their first sweep of the year after 27 series. They are now five games back of Sacramento for first place in the Pacific Northern Division standings.
Jake Noll and Brandon Snyder drove in all six Lowriders runs. Noll clobbered a pair of longballs, his first multi-homer contest of the 2019 campaign. The third baseman recorded five RBI, the 11th instance this season by a Fresno batter. Snyder also went deep, his club-leading 26th dinger. It was Snyder's 11th missile in his last 18 games. Alec Keller mustered three hits in consecutive contests and José Marmolejos added a pair of knocks.
Ildemaro Vargas paced the Aces offense with five hits, two runs and one RBI. Vargas doubled home a run in the fourth. Travis Snider and Andy Young smoked roundtrippers in the fifth inning, where Reno scored four runs. Abraham Almonte raked a pair of doubles and swiped two bases. Bradin Hagens (3-0) enjoyed the decision while Logan Ondrusek (4-5) suffered the defeat. Both squads will have an off-day on Monday.

The surge puts Snyder at 26 homers on the season, leading the club (Yadiel Hernandez, 20) and establishing a new a career-high. Snyder, 32, surpassed his total of 18 homers last season for Triple-A Durham (Rays) over 106 games in only 72 games played this year with the Grizzlies. His previous career-high in home runs was set with 23 for Triple-A Syracuse in 2017 over 121 games during his first stint with the Nationals. Snyder has hit 182 career homers over 15 professional seasons, including nine in the Major Leagues. After homering twice (5 RBI) last Sunday at Reno (won 11-4), Snyder leads Fresno with five two-homer games (three in July), and has homered twice in two of his last three Sundays (won 5-4 at SAC on July 14). Snyder is eight homers away from tying A.J. Reed's mark of 34 in 2017.
