Portland, Maine - Joe Sever and Ka'ai Tom each hit a two-run homer and powered the Akron RubberDucks (36-27) to a 7-2 victory over the Sea Dogs (22-39) in the rubber match in front of a sellout crowd on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Both Akron homers came off of Sea Dogs' starter Dedgar Jimenez (L, 1-5). Sever's came with two outs in the third inning while Tom's was hit with nobody out in the fifth.
Jimenez allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings. The lefty walked one and struck out seven.
Sean Brady (W, 3-3) matched a season-high with 6.2 scoreless innings pitched and struck out a season-high seven batters. Brady allowed five hits and walked one while fanning seven.
Portland's lone run came on a solo homer by Jantzen Witte off of Brady in the sixth. The homer was Witte's 6th, the RBI his 30th of the year with Portland.
Henry Martinez entered the game with two runners on base in the seventh and struck out Danny Mars to end the inning, then worked a perfect eighth for Akron. Akron pitchers walked just four batters in the three-game series.
Akron padded their lead on a sun-aided two-run double by Sever off of Trey Ball in the seventh. Portland right fielder Luke Tendler lost the baseball in the sun on the play. The RubberDucks scored an unearned run in the ninth thanks to three Sea Dogs' errors.
Sever finished 4-for-4 with a double, home run, and four RBIs.
Portland added a run in the ninth on a sac fly by Deiner Lopez.
