The Snappers' recent struggles continued on Saturday night as they fell 6-0 to the Bees in Burlington. Beloit starter Xavier Altamirano failed to escape the third inning, allowing six runs on six hits while walking two and striking out one. Meanwhile, his mound opponent, Jose Suarez, had no trouble carving through the Snappers' lineup, as he scattered two hits across five shutout frames.

The Bees broke through against Altamirano with three runs in the first inning. After retiring the first two batters, Altamirano issued back-to-back walks, setting the stage for Brennan Morgan's two-run double. Sam McDonnell followed with an RBI single. Burlington added three more in the third inning on Fecteau's sacrifice fly as well as RBI doubles from Morgan and Franklin Navarro.

Although it was a dismal night for the offense as a whole, J.C. Rodriguez stayed hot, recording two of the Snappers' four hits. He's now 14-for-31 (.452) over his last 13 games.

Friday night's contest in Burlington is the Snappers' tenth consecutive road loss. Beloit has also lost 18 of their last 22 games overall. With Peoria's victory on Friday, the Snappers are now 3.5 games out of the second wild card spot.
