KINSTON, NC - On Monday the Carolina League announced their players of the week for games played August 13th-19th. Down East INF Anderson Tejeda  was named as the Carolina League Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Tejeda, 20, connected on two homers in the week which tied for the league lead for the week. He lead the league in SLG (min. 15 AB), TB, and XBH. He finished second in OPS and hits as well.
The award is the second of the season for Tejeda, he also earned recognition the week of May 21st-27th as the first Wood Duck ever to earn Player of the Week (offense) honors. It is the first weekly award since Edgar Arredondo earned his second Pitcher of the Week honor in the first week of June.
This honor is the eighth received by a Wood Duck in two seasons in the Carolina League. He joins Arredondo, Jonathan Hernández, Pedro Payano, Jeffrey Springs, and Wes Benjamin who were awarded Pitcher of the Week honors.
