INDIANAPOLIS - Over the course of the past decade, Angry Birds has gone from your phone to the big screen to in living color. Next season, the stars of the hit franchise turn Victory Field into Bird Island when they visit the Indianapolis Indians on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Red, Bomb, Chuck and Hatchling will be greeting fans in PNC Plaza before and during the game.
Angry Birds burst onto the scene with the original app in late 2009. In only eight years, the hit franchise developed spin-offs into multiple video games, toys, books, a feature film and more. It's their first trip to Victory Field.
The Angry Birds visit when the Tribe hosts Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a 1:35 contest. Gates open at Noon. The game is also a Kids Eat Free Sunday, so fans 14 and under get a voucher for a free hot dog, bag of chips and a bottle of water with price of admission. Vouchers can be picked up behind section 108.
Knot Hole Kids Club members also get to run the bases after every Sunday home game, weather permitting. The club is for kids 14 and under and memberships are only $17. Besides running the bases, members get a ticket to any Indians home game, an exclusive Knot Hole Kids Club t-shirt and the chance to be an on-field Play Ball Kid.
Tickets for full- and half-season plans, plus mini and flex plans, are on sale now. Single-game tickets go on sale March 1, 2018.
