The Sky Carp rallied from an 8-3 deficit, scoring six runs in the bottom of the seventh but eventually fell short 13-9 to Great Lakes Saturday.

The Carp got the game off to a ringing start as Cam Clayton crushed a three-run home run to stake the club to a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

Great Lakes rallied quickly, scoring twice in the second, three times in the third and three more in the fourth to build an 8-3 lead.

The Carp then came alive in the seventh, highlighted by a two-run double from Jake McCutcheon and a two-run single from Clayton.

The Looks again came back, scoring twice in the eighth to take back the lead, then adding three more in the ninth to secure the victory.

Cannon Pickell and Holt Jones each tossed two scoreless innings out of the Sky Carp bullpen to highlight the pitching performance.

The Sky Carp and Loons will round out the series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. It’s Sunday Family Funday at the ballpark, with kids 12 and under able to run the bases following the game. After the base run, families can play catch in the outfield!
