Autism Awareness Night On April 19
Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have announced the team will host Autism Awareness Night at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday, April 19 for their 6:35 p.m. game versus the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays).
Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, have announced the team will host Autism Awareness Night at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday, April 19 for their 6:35 p.m. game versus the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays).
Autism Awareness Night will focus on education and fundraising for organizations from the community. The team has partnered with The Children’s Specialized Hospital, The Center School and New Horizons in Autism. Each organization will be present on the main concourse throughout the game to provide educational information and promote their services.
Gates open to the general public at 5:35 pm, but families of special needs members can enter as early as 4:45 pm to get familiar with the ballpark. The families may also participate in a pre-game arc around the infield by reporting to the lawn seating area by 6:00 pm if interested.
The music and in-game entertainment volume level will be lowered specifically for this event. There will also be a sensory-friendly suite available for families to use as needed.
An activity station will be set up on the main concourse for coloring, puzzles and other activities to enjoy.
Throughout the game, the Patriots will recognize some individual accomplishments and successes of the community though the use of PA and scoreboard announcements.
The Patriots Team Store will be selling autism-themed jerseys online prior to the game and onsite during the event while supplies last. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the partnering non-profit organizations in attendance.
