Avista Stadium is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2018 -- and the venerable ballpark is better than ever. Spokane's friendly confines, which finished second in Ballpark Digest's Best of the Ballparks Short-Season voting last summer, checked in at No. 31 on Stadium Journey's list of the top 100 stadium experiences in the United States and Canada for 2017. The Indians home field was the second-highest rated Minor League Baseball stadium -- checking in just two spots behind the Fort Wayne Tincaps' Parkview Field.

One of the crown jewels of Minor League Baseball, Avista Stadium was built in 1958 as a home for the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate after the team moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Since that time, the ballpark has served as a training ground for future Hall of Famers, been home to the greatest minor league team in the second half of the 20th century, and even played host to the inaugural Northwest League vs. Pioneer League All-Star Game in 2015. In 2013, Avista Stadium underwent major renovations including concessions facilities and a new team store, and in 2014, nearly 300 parking spaces were added to help improve the game day experience for our fans.
Avista Stadium received high marks for its food and beverage, atmosphere, fans, and history, with Stadium Journey's Meg Minard noting that, "When I'm asked what my favorite stadium is, I always state Avista Stadium as one of my two favorite minor league stadiums. I'd recommend catching a game at Avista Stadium if you want to enjoy a great evening out at a ballpark."
