The New Orleans Baby Cakes pounded out 18 hits in a 10-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
New Orleans fell one hit shy of matching its season high, set on June 10 in Omaha, to snap a three-game slide.
Christian Colón led the attack with four hits and Steve Lombardozzi chipped in three hits and scored two runs. Tomás Telis opened the scoring with a first-inning RBI single and later hit a two-run homer.
Wilfredo Tovar's leadoff home run in the bottom of the first allowed the Redbirds to tie the score, but the 'Cakes took the lead for good with an unearned run in the fourth.
After Telis drilled his fourth home run of the year in the fifth inning, New Orleans broke the game open with a five-run seventh. Cal Towey doubled in a pair of runs, and scored on a double by Peter Mooney. Mike Aviles added a pinch hit single to score two more runs.
Adam Conley (2-3) settled in after first-inning struggles to blank the Redbirds on two hits over the next five innings. Conley struck out five and walked four to earn his first win since June 6, also against Memphis.
John Gant (1-4) allowed nine hits and five runs - four earned - in five innings to suffer the defeat.
The Baby Cakes wrap up the eight-game road trip in Monday's series finale at 6:35 p.m.
