Hartford, Conn - Juan Ciriaco's three-run homer proved to be the difference, as the Hartford Yard Goats (62-73) held on for a 4-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs (62-73) on Wednesday night at Dunkin Donuts Park. Portland has lost a season-high, 11 straight road games.

Portland struck for a 1-0 lead in the first inning off winning pitcher Konner Wade (9-7). Michael Chavis hit a solo-shot to left field, his 30th homer between Salem and Portland. 
Hartford responded against Teddy Stankiewicz (L, 5-6) in the first inning. Omar Carrizales tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Drew Weeks. In the second inning, Ciriaco hit a two-out, 3-run shot over the left-field wall, his second homer of the series.
Stankiewicz tied a career-high with nine strikeouts, working six innings on eight hits and four runs.
Portland rallied in the ninth inning off Shane Broyles. Chavis led off with a double and Jeremy Barfield hit a two-run homer, his team-leading 24th of the season. Broyles fanned the next three for his 21st save of the year.
Portland plays their final road game of the series on Thursday night against the Yard Goats from Dunkin Donuts Park. LHP Dedgar Jimenez (4-0, 3.07) makes the start against LHP Jack Wynkoop (5-10, 4.31). First pitch from the Nutmeg State is 7:05 PM.
