SCARBOROUGH, ME - The Eastern League is pleased to announce the winners of the Eastern League Player of the Week Award and Eastern League Pitcher of the Week Award for the period of August 26th through September 2nd.

Richmond Flying Squirrels catcher Joey Bart has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of August 26th-September 2nd. The 22-year old batted .538 (14-for-26) with four doubles, one triple, one home run, six RBIs, five runs scored, two walks, and a .885 slugging percentage in seven games for the Flying Squirrels last week. Bart, who is a native of Buford, Georgia, had at least one hit in six of the games he played in last week and had multiple hits in four games during the week. That included a pair of four-hit performances on August 26th at Erie and on August 29th at Erie. The 6'2", 235 lb. slugger led all Eastern League hitters in batting average (.538), hits (14), on-base percentage (.571), slugging percentage (.885), and OPS (1.456) last week. He also ranked among the weekly leaders in total bases (23-2nd), doubles (4-tied 2nd), triples (1-tied 2nd), runs scored (5-tied 5th), and RBIs (6-tied 6th). Bart is hitting .316 with four homers and 11 RBIs in 22 games since being promoted to Richmond on August 9th. Joey, who is rated by MLB.com as the top prospect in the San Francisco organization and the 19th best prospect in all of Minor League Baseball, was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the second overall pick of the 2018 draft out of Georgia Tech.

Domingo Robles, a left-handed starting pitcher for the Altoona Curve, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 26th-September 2nd. The 6'2", 170 lb. hurler started a pair of games for the Curve last week and had a record of 1-0 with 11 strikeouts and a 0.64 ERA. Robles, who is a native of Imbert, Dominican Republic, made his first start of the period on August 26th against the visiting Akron RubberDucks and pitched a complete game in Altoona's 5-0 victory. He scattered five hits while striking out five batters and walking one as he threw his first career nine inning complete game. Domingo made his second start of the week on Saturday at Harrisburg and gave up one run over five innings in Altoona's 14-7 loss. He gave up three hits and struck out six batters over his five innings of work. The 21-year old led all Eastern League pitchers in shutouts (1) and tied for the lead in complete games (1) last week. He also ranked among the weekly leaders in ERA (0.64-tied 2nd), innings pitched (14.0-tied 2nd), WHIP (0.64-4th), wins (1-tied 6th), strikeouts (11-tied 9th), and batting average against (.167-tied 9th). Domingo, who has a 4-6 record with a 4.02 ERA in 18 starts for the Curve this season, was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a free agent on July 2, 2014.
