FRISCO, Texas (May 20, 2017) - With a 14-hit effort at his back, Ariel Jurado and the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, topped the Corpus Christi Hooks 6-2 Saturday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
BIG MOMENTS

  • The Riders scored five runs in the first three innings, plating two in the first and three in the third against Corpus Christi starter Cy Sneed . Frisco's initial runs came on a wild pitch and Eric Aguilera's RBI single, while Juremi Profar's run-scoring single highlighted the third. Michael De Leon added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth, making it 6-0.
  • Ariel Jurado earned his third consecutive victory, yielding two runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. He didn't yield a run until the final batter he faced, when Bobby Boyd hit a two-run homer.
  • Clayton Cook, Ryne Slack, and Reed Garrett tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, lowering the bullpen's ERA to 1.55 over the past nine games.

NEWS AND NOTES
  • Following Saturday's decision, Ariel Jurado's earned run average over four starts in May is 1.40. Jurado posted a 6.41 ERA over five April starts.
  • Juremi Profar's three-hit performance is his second such performance in three days. Profar also went 3-4 on Thursday against Midland.
  • Jose Cardona's multi-hit output Saturday marks his team-leading 16th multi-hit effort. In his past 13 games, the outfielder has a .411 batting average, going 23-56.
  • Michael De Leon registered a season-high three hits in Saturday's victory.
  • The Riders have gone 4-2 in the first six games of the eight-game homestand.
