BayBears cut Barons lead in half in seventh but fall short

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 27, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, were defeated 6-2 by the Birmingham Barons Thursday night at Regions Field.Trailing 4-0 in the seventh, the BayBears plated a pair of runs against Lincoln Henzman (2-2) to cut Birmingham's lead in half.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 27, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, were defeated 6-2 by the Birmingham Barons Thursday night at Regions Field.
Trailing 4-0 in the seventh, the BayBears plated a pair of runs against Lincoln Henzman (2-2) to cut Birmingham's lead in half. Brandon Sandoval got Mobile (31-45 overall, 4-4 second half) on the board with a sacrifice fly, and Jhoan Urena followed with an RBI single. Henzman had faced the minimum and only allowed one hit through the first six innings.
Jo Adell went 2-for-4, recording his 10th multi-hit game this month. He has multiple hits in 10 of 19 games since returning to Mobile.
The Barons (31-46, 4-4) had a pair of home runs and 10 hits against Luis Madero (4-4). Blake Rutherford and Luis González hit two-run homers to right field in the first and third, respectively.
The BayBears continue the five-game road series against Birmingham Friday at 7:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley (3-4, 3.72 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against southpaw Matt Tomshaw (2-4, 3.18 ERA) for the Barons.
