MOBILE, Ala. (May 6, 2018) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, held off the Chattanooga Lookouts and salvaged the final game of the series 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jesus Castillo (3-2) pitched six scoreless innings and gave up just one hit, a single in the fourth inning. He walked two batters and struck out four in his second quality start.
Taylor Ward got the BayBears (13-16) on the board with a solo home run in the first, his fourth of the season. Brennon Lund added to the lead with an RBI single in the seventh, the second hit in his third straight multi-hit game.
Jeremy Rhoades tossed two scoreless, hitless frames of relief. He has not allowed a run in 13 2/3 consecutive innings, the longest stretch by a Mobile pitcher. Greg Mahle surrendered a run in the ninth but got out of a bases-loaded jam to earn his second save.
