BILOXI, Miss. (June 3, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, came back to take a three-run lead in the seventh but ended up losing 7-6 to the Biloxi Shuckers in 14 innings Saturday night at MGM Park.
After Wade Wass hit his team-high eighth home run to tie the game 3-3 in the top of the seventh, the BayBears loaded the bases for David Fletcher . Fletcher delivered with a three-run double to left-center field to give Mobile (24-31) its first lead.
However, it was short-lived, as Biloxi (30-25) rallied to plate three runs in the bottom half of the frame. Angel Ortega hit a game-tying, two-run homer, his second of the series, and the game went to extra inning tied 6-6. The Shuckers ultimately won the game on Blake Allemand's walk-off single against Adam Hofacket (0-1).
Tim Arakawa notched a career-high four hits. He hit an RBI triple in the third inning to put Mobile on the board, helping the BayBears erase an early two-run Biloxi lead.
