MOBILE, Ala. (July 20, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, scored the first run of the game but fell 12-3 to the Biloxi Shuckers Saturday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jack Kruger drove in two of the three runs for the BayBears (40-56 overall, 13-15 second half) with RBI singles in the first and sixth. Kruger has a pair of RBIs in each of his past two games.
Biloxi (59-39, 18-10) grabbed the lead with five runs against Luis Madero (4-8) in the third on home runs from Bruce Caldwell and Dillon Thomas. Thomas has gone deep each of the past three days, and the Shuckers have hit two home runs in every game this series.
Dylan File (5-1) held the BayBears to three runs on six hits and struck out seven batters in a seven-inning start. He retired 11 consecutive batters from the first to the fifth.
Jo Adell went 1-for-4 with a run scored in the first and an RBI fielder's choice in the seventh.
The BayBears wrap up the four-game home series against Biloxi Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley (5-5, 3.36 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Bowden Francis (5-6, 3.96 ERA) for the Shuckers.
