MONTGOMERY, Ala. (May 5, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning but dropped the series finale 4-2 to the Montgomery Biscuits Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium.
Michael Santos (1-1) pitched four scoreless innings in his first start back with Mobile (12-17) before allowing a pair of runs in the fifth. Santos worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth to keep the Biscuits (19-10) off the board. However, he gave up back-to-back hits to start the fifth, and both runners scored after he departed.
After four scoreless innings, the BayBears grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth. Connor Justus hit a double and scored two batters later on a Bo Way sacrifice fly.
Trailing 3-1 after a three-run bottom of the inning, Roberto Peña cut the Montgomery lead in half with an RBI single up the middle. Pena went 2-for-3 in the game and finished with four hits in the series.
