MOBILE, Ala. (September 1, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, could not bounce back after giving up four unearned runs in a 5-2 loss to the Biloxi Shuckers Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jesus Castillo (0-2) did not give up an earned run in five innings pitched and struck out five batters. However, he took the loss for the second straight outing.
In the fourth inning, a fielding error on a fly ball to left field led to four Biloxi (69-65 overall, 33-32 second half) runs. Tyrone Taylor hit a two-out RBI single, and Troy Stokes, Jr. followed with a three-run homer. It was Stokes' second consecutive game with a long ball.
Alberto Triunfel hit a solo home run to lead off the fifth, and Abel De Los Santos tossed two scoreless, hitless frames of relief. However, the BayBears (63-73, 33-34) did not come closer than 4-2.
Forrest Snow (6-4) earned the win in relief, giving up two runs on just two hits with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings pitched. Matt Ramsey recorded his league-high 26th save with a scoreless, hitless ninth inning.
