SALT LAKE CITY (May 7, 2018) - The Salt Lake Bees, donning the identity of the 1980s Salt Lake Gulls, dropped the final game of a four-game series with the Las Vegas 51s 10-8 Monday night at Smith's Ballpark.

The Bees were doomed by giving up seven runs in the sixth inning, the most they've allowed in a single inning all season. This came with Salt Lake holding a 6-3 lead going into the painful inning. The Bees would have several opportunities to tie or retake the lead with runners on base, but were unable to get the job done.
Despite the loss, the Bees clinched the series win by taking the previous three games against the 51s. Monday's top performers for Salt Lake included Michael Hermosillo, who hit a solo home run in his first at-bat of the game. Kaleb Cowart also played well, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a run, a double and a stolen base.
It was not a night to remember for the Bees pitching staff. Ralston Cash, who replaced starter Dylan Unsworth, was credited with the loss. Kyle Regnault picked up the win for Las Vegas with Buddy Baumann getting the hold and Tim Peterson grabbing the save. ]
Up next, the Bees will hit the road for a eight-game road trip with a four-game stop in Sacramento followed by another four-game series with Fresno. Salt Lake will be back at Smith's Ballpark on Thursday, May 17th to face Sacramento. Tickets are available at slbees.com.
