Bees Win Slugfest in Reno

The Salt Lake Bees produced their highest run output of the season, as they rolled to a 15-9 victory over the Reno Aces on Monday night.

The Salt Lake Bees produced their highest run output of the season, as they rolled to a 15-9 victory over the Reno Aces on Monday night.

For Salt Lake, it was their season high fourth consecutive win. The Bees jumped ahead with four runs in the first and it started when Taylor Ward led off the game with his 7th homer of the season. After a pair of walks, Jose Rojas doubled in both runners and he scored on a two out single by Wilfredo Tovar. Rojas would belt a three run shot in the second, his seventh of the season, to build the Bees a 7-0 lead and the rout was on.
All nine starters had at least one hit and scored at least one run. Rojas led the way with three hits and five runs batted in, while Dustin Garneau and Ty Kelly each added two hits and two RBI. Tovar drove in two runs and Jared Walsh hit his team leading tenth home run of the season. Parker Bridwell (1-3) was credited with the win, as he went three and one-third innings and allowed four runs on five hits with two strikeouts. John Curtiss closed out the game with two and two-third scoreless innings.
