TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (23-22) fell to the El Paso Chihuahuas (22-23) by a final score of 4-2 Monday night at Cheney Stadium.Tacoma starting right-hander Christian Bergman matched a season high in innings pitched (7.0) and strikeouts (8) while allowing just two runs to the Chihuahuas.

TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (23-22) fell to the El Paso Chihuahuas (22-23) by a final score of 4-2 Monday night at Cheney Stadium.
Tacoma starting right-hander Christian Bergman matched a season high in innings pitched (7.0) and strikeouts (8) while allowing just two runs to the Chihuahuas.

Designated hitter Chris Herrmann (1x4, R, 2 RBI, HR), right fielder John Andreoli (2x4), and shortstop Zach Vincej (1x3, 2B) led the way for the Tacoma offense.
The Chihuahuas got on the board first during the top of the fourth inning when Shane Peterson connected on a two-run homer to left field and gave El Paso a 2-0 lead.
Hermann made it five games in a row in which Tacoma has homered with a game-tying two-run shot of his own during the bottom half of the fifth. The homer extended Herrmann's on-base streak to 13 games.
El Paso dealt the final blow in the top half of the eighth when Luis Urías launched a two-run homer to right and give the Chihuahuas a 4-2 lead.
Rainiers reliever Tyler Jackson tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in his fourth appearance of the season for Tacoma. Tucker Healy (0.2 IP) took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits.
The Rainiers and Chihuahas return to action tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. for game two of the four-game series. Left hander Roenis Elías (1-3, 4.87) will toe the rubber for Tacoma and righty Chris Huffman (2-3, 5.80) will get the start for El Paso.
