Wappingers Falls, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2026) – Major League Baseball has announced today that Hudson Valley Renegades clubhouse manager Ryan Shute has been selected as the 2026 South Atlantic League Home Clubhouse Manager of the Year.

“It’s an honor to be named the 2026 South Atlantic League Home Clubhouse Manager of the Year. It’s another reminder of just how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do and show up to work everyday at a baseball field,” said Shute.

“I’d like to thank the New York Yankees for continuing to trust me year in and year out with their players and coaches. I’d like to thank those players and coaches, not just from this season, but all of them over the course of my time in this organization, for making my time easier and more enjoyable. And lastly, a big thank you to the Hudson Valley Renegades front office for being so supportive of our players, coaches and staffs throughout the first six years of this partnership.”

The 2026 season was Shute’s sixth year as the Renegades Home Clubhouse Manager and eighth in the Yankees organization, previously working for the Short-Season A Staten Island Yankees in 2019 and Rookie-level Pulaski in 2018. Before joining the Yankees, Shute was the Visiting Clubhouse Manager for the Carolina Mudcats during the 2017 season.

A native of the Hudson Valley and 2011 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Shute spent four summers as a Stadium Operations and Groundskeeping Assistant for the Renegades from 2012-15. He graduated from Saint Leo University in Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration.

“This is such a well-deserved honor for Ryan. His positive impact goes way beyond the clubhouse,” said Renegades manager Aaron Bossi. “His care for our team is evident every day, and he takes tremendous pride in making the clubhouse a place where everyone feels at home and has what they need to succeed. We’re fortunate to have him and proud to see his hard work recognized.”

The winner of the award was selected by Major League Baseball with nominations made by individuals across the industry, including field managers and general managers.

Shute becomes the third member of the Renegades support staff to garner a major South Atlantic League award, joining Jonathan Becker who was named 2022 SAL Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) and Danny Smith who was named 2022 SAL Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year by the Professional Baseball Strength & Conditioning Coaches Society (PBSCCS).
